Full academic titles are available to health and medical professionals who make a significant and sustained contribution to James Cook University's teaching, research and/or service activities.
Academic titleholders receive a title that recognises their level of experience and expertise.
A message from the deputy Vice Chancellor, Division of Tropical Health and Medicine
James Cook University (JCU) has a longstanding commitment to improving health in rural, remote, Indigenous and Tropical communities in Australia and worldwide. Working with local, national and regional partners, we deliver world-class education and research that addresses the key health challenges facing regional, rural, remote, Indigenous and Tropical populations across the globe.
Critical to this success are the many health and medical professionals from across our partners who make a substantial contribution to our education, research or other professional endeavours. The commitment of these individuals to training the next generation of health professionals and to addressing the most challenging health issues facing Tropical Australia and the Topics worldwide is to be commended.
Previously, these individuals were recognised as JCU Adjuncts. To better reflect the significant and sustained contribution of these individuals, health and medical professionals are now able to nominate to hold a Full Academic Title at JCU. I encourage all health and medical professionals who contribute to our education, research or other service activities to consider applying for a Full Academic Title.
I look forward to your involvement with JCU as a Full Academic titleholder or Adjunct appointee as we continue to advance the health of people across northern Australia and beyond.
