The Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU) at James Cook University, in association with the Geological Survey of Queensland are hosting the second workshop on the Minerals Systems of the Mount Isa Inlier, in Cloncurry.
This is the fourth in the series of workshops that aim to bring together academia and industry for a series of technical talks, from invited speakers, to showcase the diverse deposits of the region.
This workshop will include:
- 2 days of technical sessions
- presentations by invited speakers
- 2 x one day field trips (schedule/locations subject to change)
- Day 1 Tick Hill AU deposit
- Day 2 Elaine Dorothy and Mt Colin Cu-Au deposits
- viewing of drill core from various deposits in the region

|Friday 15 May||Field Trip***||Full day day trip to Elaine Dorothy and Mt Colin Au deposits. The field trip starts in Cloncurry and ends in Mount Isa.|

Important Note: Field trips require all participants to supply their own safety clothing – long sleeve shirt, long pants, boots/ shoes (with steel caps if visiting a mine site) and sun hat. Those without the correct safety/field gear will not be able to attend the field trip.
Hard hats, safety glasses and high visibility vests,if required,can be supplied by EGRU.
Delegate Registration and Field Trips
EGRU reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Mineral Systems of the Mount Isa Inlier workshop or associated field trips if minimum numbers are not registered by :
- Wednesday 19 March 2020
If a delegate cancels a registration for the workshop or the field trips, there will be a full refund of the registration fees for cancellations on or before:
- Wednesday 19 March 2020
Fees will not be refunded after Wednesday 19 March 2020, but registration can be transferred to an alternative delegate.
EGRU is not responsible for cancellation or re-booking fees incurred by registrants that are imposed by airlines, accommodation venues or other entities as a result of the any courses being cancelled or rescheduled.
