This short course will comprise two modules and is suitable for post-graduate students and interested minerals industry people, who require an introduction to fluid inclusion analysis. Previous experience in fluid inclusions is not required.
This module will focus on the fundamentals of fluid inclusion studies in economic geology. The course will concentrate on sample selection and sample preparation, fluid inclusion petrography, phase diagrams of single and multi-component fluid systems (H2O, CO2, H2O-NaCl, H2O-NaCl-CaCl2, H2O-CO2, H2O-CO2-NaCl, micothermometry, data collection, data presentation and data evaluation.
This module will expand on module 1 and will concentrate on the practical aspects of fluid inclusions studies including the use and calibration of heating-freezing stage (Linkam) and laser-Raman microspectrometry.
A minimum number of 6 registrants is required for the workshop to proceed.Once minimum numbers have been achieved registrants will be emailed payment options.

This one day course is designed to help exploration geologists better understand the issues they face when dealing with geochemical data. Delegates will be exposed to practical exercises using ioGAS software to work on real-world data sets.
The course has been presented numerous times in Perth and is being made available in north Queensland through EGRU and courtesy of CSA Global.
Delegate numbers for each day are limited and the course will only be offered on Thursday 28th June if there are sufficient registrations.

In this field trip we will be visiting some of the active mines in the Mount Isa Eastern succession. The field trip will entail 5 main stops in the Selwyn mineral field, Kuridala, Mount Elliot/SWAN Deposits, Merlin/Mount Dore Deposits, Victoria Deposit and Osborne Deposit to the south. Two nights accommodation will be at Osborne Mine which will include a mine tour and core viewing. The third night will be at Cannington Mine which will include a presentation and a visit to the core shed. The final day will be travelling to Mount Isa via Cloncurry and opportunities to stop at selected outcrops.
This field trip replaces the March trip associated with the Mineral Systems Workshop which was cancelled due to the weather conditions. This field trip in the first instance is open to those who originally registered for the field trip but you are requested to register by 28 May. After this date the field trip will be open to all so please register for the field trip if you are interested in attending, as numbers are limited and places will be allocated on a first in basis after 28 May.
