Permit types and purchasing or application requirements are outlined below.
Permit permits for the Townsville campus will be valid for parking on the Cairns campus in 2018.
Student and Staff permits enable permit holders to park in all Permit and Free parking areas on campus at any time. See Campus Maps for designated parking areas.
The permit sticker must be clearly displayed in the lower passenger side corner of the windscreen.
Student and Staff permits are available on an annual or per-semester basis.
You will be required to present appropriate staff or student identification along with your application. For casual staff, copy of your most recent payslip is acceptable.
If a permit is lost or destroyed, you may request a replacement by completing the Application for Re-Issue Form (PDF, 99 KB) and submit it with your payment to The Co-op Bookshop.
Senior Executive Staff, including Divisional Heads, College Deans and Directors are entitled to apply for a Reserved (Special) S1 parking permit.
S1 permits allow permit holders to park in designated Reserved parking spaces throughout the campus. The permit sticker must be clearly displayed in the lower passenger side corner of the windscreen.
S1 permits may be purchased by Salary Sacrifice at a cost of $510, or by Division/College Costs Centres at a cost of $255 (fees current for 2018).

Note, for staff of the Clinical Practices Building (Building 500) on the Townsville Campus, a letter confirming Proof of Tenancy on JCU Campus signed by the Building Property manager or staff from the Discovery Rise Office must accompany the application form.
External contractors working for JCU can apply in person to the Estate Directorate Office in Townsville and Cairns to complete an application for a Service Vehicle Permit (S6).
This permit entitles holders to park their vehicle in designated Service Vehicle bays for a maximum of 2 hours. Alternatively, Service Vehicle Permit holders may park in any of the Permit, Free and Public parking areas at any time.

Any current State or Federal Government issued Disability Parking Permit (clearly displayed on the vehicle) is valid for the vehicle to be parked in a Disability or General permit parking area, and is also valid for any visitor parking area. Time restrictions do not apply.
