Workshop: Advanced Searching for Systematic Reviews


When: 20 June 18, 11am -- 1pm

Where: At James Cook University
Room 142.020 & 142.021, Building 18 - Eddie Koiki Mabo Library, Townsville Campus

Advanced Searching for Systematic Reviews in Medical & Health Sciences

Designed for all postgraduates, HDRs and researches, particularly those doing systematic reviews, this hands on workshop will:

  • Introduce you to systematic searching of the literature
  • Use a systematic protocol and complex search strategies
  • Discuss the differences in searching Index & Abstract databases using Subject Headings vs Keywords
  • Hands on practice searching database, including Medline, CINAHL, Scopus and Cochrane

Attendees are strongly encouraged to have a topic to search and if you wish, bring your own device.

If you intend to use EndNote to manage your research and facilitate your protocol, it is highly recommended that you have attended an Introduction to EndNote session prior to this workshop or have experience using the program. You should also have EndNote downloaded to your laptop.
