Climate Change: Risks and Responses for the Tropical North Forum

Cairns

When: 8 August 19, 5pm -- 6:30pm

Where: JCU City Campus: 36 Shields Street, Cairns City

A global economic transition is underway as countries around the world move to reduce pollutants and adopt low carbon alternatives. The Queensland Government is committed to playing its part in the global effort to address the impacts of climate change and ensure the long-term viability of our economy, communities and industries. The Tropical North has a unique and diverse landscape that requires special attention and understanding of the risks climate change poses.

Join us for this free public forum as JCU researchers discuss the risk climate change has on our environment, including the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as the regions social and economic standing. The researchers will also highlight existing projects and what response and impact this has presented to climate change risk.
