JCU Inspiration on Tap
Where: Salt House, Marina Point, 6/2 Pierpoint Road, Cairns City
Come along and be inspired as JCU’s top researchers and academics share their expertise with the local community outside of the lecture theatre.
There will be two topics presented on the night. These include:
Science at High Speed
A lot of what happens in the animal world occurs at speeds so fast they are invisible to the human eye. Come on a journey that shows high speed animals in super slow motion, much of it a world's first. From animals whose limbs move so fast they produce flashes of light, to those that fire off structures faster than a 22 magnum bullet. Be prepared to see and learn things you have NEVER seen or heard of before.

Personalised Medicine: Science Fact or Fiction?
Personalised medicine has the potential to significantly improve health care by developing customised treatments specific to individual patients. A discussion of the latest research and an overview of exciting developments currently taking place in Northern Queensland will present opportunities for cutting edge developments in health care in the 21st Century.
