JCU Inspiration on Tap

Townsville

When: 7 March 19, 6:30pm -- 8pm

Where: Heritage Exchange, 151 Flinders St

Come along and be inspired as JCU’s top researchers and academics share their expertise with the local community outside of the lecture theatre.

There will be two topics presented on the night. These include:

Does faith, spirituality, belief, or religion support peace or incite conflict?

Claire Holland, a lecturer and researcher in the Conflict Management and Resolution Program at JCU, will discuss what conflict is and how underlying causes of conflict such as our background, culture, beliefs, religion, and biases can influence our thoughts and behaviour. Claire will talk about interfaith dialogue and peace education and discuss generally how important conflict management and resolution skills & understanding are when working in a multicultural and multi-faith society such as Townsville.

Presented by Claire Holland

Bugs and Pooh! The role of Baby Pooh and Probiotics in Discovering the Microbiome of Preterm Birth
