Gender Based Violence - An Avoidable Tragedy

Dr Denis Mukwege is a world-renowned gynaecologist, human rights activist from east Congo whose critical work received well-deserved recognition when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018.

He has become the world’s leading specialist in the treatment of wartime sexual violence and a global campaigner against the use of rape as a weapon of war.

During this public lecture Dr Mukwege will highlight the current status about violence against women especially genital violence and how his work is making a difference in the lives of these women.
