Rainforest Plant Identification Workshop

Where: At James Cook University
Room 003, Building E2 - Sir Robert Norman Building, Cairns Campus

Rainforest Plant Identification Workshop presented by the Australian Tropical Herbarium and Wet Tropics Management Authority.

Targeted at the interested layperson, the three day introductory short course will cover:

  • What is a rainforest?
  • How plants are named.
  • Plant structure and terminology.
  • A walking tour of nearby rainforest, and hands-on learning through identification of local native plants.
  • A review of important rainforest plant families, and the features used to identify them in the field.
  • Skills and knowledge needed to effectively use free online plant identification tools.

Participants in each short course will receive a statement of attendance.

Early birds discount: receive 10% off until 5pm, 12 November 2021.
