The Department of Education Queensland in partnership with James Cook University are offering students in Years 6 to 12 the opportunity to practice their language skills: Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese and Spanish ( Years 10 to 12 only). Our experienced and highly qualified teachers are looking forward to share their knowledge and passion with you!

The program runs for one week, providing an intensive language learning experience. You'll learn through interactive lessons, cultural activities, and immersion in the language.

Not only will you improve your language skills, but you'll also gain a deeper understanding of the culture behind the language. You'll learn about customs, traditions, music, and much more. This will not only enhance your language skills but also broaden your cultural horizons.

This program is run during the June-July school holidays (3-7 July 2023). Duration of each class is 90 min online. Classes will run each day between 9:30am to 4:30pm, however, the exact time of your session will be confirmed a week before the class starts.

State School students in Year 6 to 12 might be eligible for a scholarship thanks to the Department of Education. If you are currently attending a state school please register your interest here before June 16.

Cost of the language program without a scholarship is $160 per person.

To participate in these online classes you will need to have access to the internet, a computer, a webcam and a microphone.
