JCU is proud to present our upcoming Legal Studies Conference.

This year's theme will focus on ‘Human Rights: Legal Perspectives’ and will cover a range of topics that are highly relevant to the QCAA Legal Studies Syllabus.

2025 Legal Studies Conference

The conference will delve into legal concepts, principles and contemporary issues with the focus of the intersection with Human Rights. Guest presenter topics across the two conferences will include the Judiciary, Criminal Law, International Law, First Nations Right to Self Determination and more. The conference will also feature a Panel Discussion on Youth Justice, focussed on the Human Rights aspects to youth detention and the age of criminal responsibility.

Attendance at this conference is now open to all students grades 9 -12, regardless of whether they are studying legal studies. All students are welcome to participate and benefit from this valuable learning experience.
