Dr Rhonda Melzer - Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service


Dr Rhonda Melzer from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will provide an overview on Values Based Management Framework (VBMF) and Prospectus, and discuss their relevance and the opportunities they provide to the institutions’ research and teaching agendas. The VBMF informs QPWS’s priorities including for research. These are captured in the QPWS Research Prospectus.

Terrestrial and marine biology, ecology, conservation management and economics, social science and cultural heritage are fields relevant to the discussion.


Dr Rhonda Melzer (PhD Ecology UQ) is Manager of the Ecological Assessment Unit in Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. She has been with the Service, based out of Rockhampton, since 1991.

The role of her team includes developing and implementing monitoring programs to evaluate the effectiveness of management interventions including pest management actions.
