Equipment fund for Cambodian Rehabilitation Centres

JCU Physiotherapy students are going to Siem Reap, Cambodia, for 5 weeks of clinical placement in February & March 2024.  The students will be providing rehabilitation and treatment for disabled children at Grace House Community Centre. All students will be supported and supervised by Australian registered physiotherapists.

There is little or no funds available in Siem Reap to assist the locals in purchasing toys and equipment for children with special needs or for adults who may need a walking aid or wheelchair to support their independence.  Raising funds to purchase these resources will support the independence of the children attending Grace House. For the students it is a valuable opportunity to aid in the decision of what equipment will serve as many people as possible in the community in the most efficient way. Also, it assists the students in developing their clinical skills and decision-making processes when working with patients, especially those who reside where resources are scarce.

James Cook University is an Australian registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), which means donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
