The Academic and Thesis Writing Workshops (ATWW) series provides practical and conceptual information on how academic writing works, and encourages you to put the techniques to use in your thesis, proposals and journal articles. Whatever your current stage of writing, there are benefits for anyone who wishes to attend.
ATWW will run for six consecutive weeks and will be available to attend in Townsville, Cairns and via Zoom. Each session is recorded. All notes, recordings and other relevant material will be uploaded to LearnJCU shortly after each session.
The ATWW series is open to all JCU postgraduate and Honours students. Members of staff are warmly invited to attend as well.
You should register through CareerHub to attend: Registration assists the Convenor to ensure that suitable rooms are available, and to contact participants if there is a change of venue or time.
Important Note for International HDR Candidates: This six-week Academic & Thesis Writing Workshop series is separate to the SKIP Program (Skills for International Postgraduates). International HDR Candidates in their first year of enrolment should register to undertake the SKIP Program and are not required to attend the Academic and Thesis Writing Workshop series. However, international HDR Candidates in their later years who have completed the SKIP Program are most welcome to attend the Academic and Thesis Writing Workshops.
