Summary of Project

This project would explore the long-term sustainability of Holocene Great Barrier Reef Indigenous fisheries. This research will utilise both zooarchaeological and biomolecular analyses to examine changing fish population structure and resilience, which will extend ecological baselines and foreground the important role of Indigenous fishing practices.
