Summary of Project

Practice-led research is a form of research where academic and creative works are both forms of research output. Artist-researchers are drawn to practice-led research methodologies as a way of articulating and exploring cultural and theoretical concepts using multiple symbolic languages and approaches. This project calls for researchers who are interested in research-driven creative endeavours that engage with the unique landscapes and narratives of the tropics. Projects that engage with the collections held in the North Queensland collection, and oral narratives from the tropics are particularly encouraged. Forms of creative work include, but are not limited to, historical fiction, literary fiction, life writing and creative nonfiction.
