Summary of Project

There is lack of effective drug to treat inflammatory bowel disease including ulcerative colitis. Whipworm protein has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. However, there is only limited work done on characterizing small molecules from the whipworms. This research will therefore isolate and identify small molecule anti-inflammatory drug lead compounds from the worms.
