Summary of Project

This program draws together disaster experts to deliver a three day workshop specifically designed to contribute deeper understanding of the needs associated with A) disaster education for undergraduate health students (student nurses) and B) understanding and enhancing resilient behaviours in a culturally acceptable manner in Indigenous Australian communities in Cape York. We offer a strong emphasis on practice-led research methods and we especially welcome candidates with an interest in disaster management, mitigation and response.

We have a national focus for all disaster research with a specific regional focus in North Queensland and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Australia. We have strong links with the Asia Pacific region and would welcome applicants from these countries. All other regions will be welcomed for consideration.
