Understanding coral reef thermal dynamics
Title of Project
Understanding coral reef thermal dynamics.
Name of Advisor/s
Dr Karen Joyce
College of Science & Engineering
Summary of Project
The aim of this project is to investigate the fine scale variability in water surface temperature on a coral reef. As temperature plays a major role in the health of coral ecosystems, understanding its spatial and temporal variability will aid predictions and monitoring of thermally driven impacts such as coral bleaching.
Remote sensing, coral reefs, drones, satellite.
Would suit an applicant who
Has strong and relevant training and/or education in remote sensing and is keen to work on a coral reef.
