I am pleased to advise that the ballot on the James Cook University Enterprise Agreement resulted in the agreement being approved by staff.
Participation in the ballot was particularly good - 1031 voted, with 91% voting YES.
JCU will now complete the necessary documentation to have the Enterprise Agreement approved by the Fair Work Commission (FWC). The Enterprise Agreement must be lodged with FWC within 14 days.
The Enterprise Agreement guarantees a 3% pay increase on the 1 June in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The 0.4% which is the difference between the 2.6% administrative increase and the 3% payable under the Enterprise Agreement for this year will be paid in the pay period ending 1 November 2013.
Once the Enterprise Agreement has been approved by the FWC the additional benefits that have been negotiated will be accessible subject to some forms and codes in relation to the new categories of special leaves being developed.
