Summer School

The JCU Summer School for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is an initiative of the Indigenous Education and Research Centre (IERC). This is an intensive preparation program open to all Indigenous students planning to study in 2023.

The 2021 Summer School will be taught by the IERC and focuses on building capacities in Math, English, Digital Literacy and tertiary study skills. Participants will attend classes and take part in team-building activities designed to prepare them for the demands of university study while also providing opportunities to connect with University staff and form friendships with other students who will be commencing study in 2023.

Participating students can choose to stay on campus in a JCU residential college at no cost.  Full catering is provided for all participants while on campus and the IERC covers the cost of return travel for participants outside of the Townsville region.
