Use this guide to set up your JCU email on your Apple iPhone, iPad or Google Android device.
Apple iOS
Start by turning on your device (if it’s not already on) and make sure you are connected to Wireless or 3G before you start
Tap the Settings icon
Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Add Account …
Choose the option for Microsoft Exchange
Enter the following information:
Email: Your full JCU email address
Password: Enter your normal JCU computer account password
Description: A name for you to identify the account i.e. JCU Email
Now tap Next and the device will begin Verifying
If your iOS Device can’t find your settings you will need to manually enter them. In the Server field type outlook.office365.com and then tap Next
Set the Mail, Contact and Calendar options to ON then tap on Save
If you're prompted to create a passcode, tap Continue and type a numeric passcode. If you don’t set up a passcode, you can’t view your email account on your iOS Device. You can set up a passcode later through Settings
Now select the Fetch New Data option
Set the Push to OFF then select your JCU Email Account from the list
For the Select Schedule option choose Manual
Return to your main screen by pressing the Home Button
Warning: Setting the Mail, Contact and Calendar options to ON (option 8) may overwrite any contact/calendar data you have saved on your phone, but this depends on the options you’ve chosen for those settings.
The email account will now be configured on your Apple iOS device. It may take some time for it to sync all your emails, contacts and calendar entries.
Navigate back to your Home screen and choose Mail to access your JCU Emails.
You can even install one of your 5 available copies of O365 Office for your Mobile or Tablet
Google Android
Start by turning on your device (if it’s not already on) and make sure you are connected to Wireless or 3G before you start.
Navigate to the Application Drawer and select Settings > Accounts > Add an account > Exchange.
Enter your JCU Email Address and Password, tap Next;
Select Exchange account. This option may be named Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Android.
Change the Server field to outlook.office365.com, the Port and Security type will be automatically updated to the correct settings, tap Next;
At the Remote Security Administration prompt select OK.
Set your Inbox checking frequency as desired and change your Days to sync to All, tap Next;
By default your account’s display name will be your JCU email address, change it now if you wish then tap Next;
On the Activate Device Administrator screen tap Activate.
The email account is now configured on your Google Android device. It may take some time for it to sync all your emails, contacts and calendar entries.
Navigate back to the Application Drawer and choose Mail to access your JCU Emails.
You can even install one of your 5 available copies of O365 Office for your Mobile or Tablet
