JCU Inherent Requirements for Diploma of Higher Education (113121)

Inherent requirements
Inherent requirements are the identified abilities, attributes, skills, and behaviours that must be demonstrated, during the learning experience, to successfully complete a course. These abilities, attributes, skills, and behaviours preserve the academic integrity of the University’s learning, assessment, and accreditation processes, and where applicable, meet the standards of a profession.
Reasonable adjustments
Reasonable adjustments must:
- Be consistent with legislative and regulatory requirements, and not compromise codes, guidelines and policies
- Not result in unethical or unprofessional behaviour
- Address the need to perform the full range of tasks involved in the course program, including undertaking learning activities in mixed gender environments, which reflect the Australian context, and
- Ensure that performance is consistent and sustained over a given period.

There are additional inherent requirements for certain undergraduate courses, and you should read them in conjunction with the Course and Subject Handbook when enrolling into a bachelor’s degree.
