How to accept your offer

Important note: The following information is relevant only to applicants applying via the following authorised agents of James Cook University. All other international applicants should follow the general Applying to JCU information.

How to accept your offer

  • Once you have received your letter of offer, use the link provided to log into the JCU International Application Portal. Navigate to the My Applications tab.
  • Depending on how many offers you have received, there will be a list of Submitted Applications. On the offer you intend to accept, click the actions drop down menu, and select Respond to Offer.
  • The Respond to Offer screen provides details about your offer and course. To accept, click Accept Offer.
  • Fill out the additional form fields that appear and click Accept Offer.
  • From here you will be walked through paying your Commencement deposit.  Course fees are due on the payment due date each study period. Further information about fees and financial support is available here.
  • Your acceptance of the offer will be shown in the My Applications tab even if you do not finish paying your course fees.

As it gets time to choose subjects and complete enrolment, we’ll send you emails with information to help you get started.

How to defer your offer

  • Once you have received your letter of offer, use the link provided to log into the JCU International Application Portal. Navigate to the My Applications tab.
  • Depending on how many offers you have received, there will be a list of Submitted Applications. On the offer you intend to defer, click the actions drop down menu, and select Respond to Offer.
  • The Respond to Offer screen provides details about your offer and course. To defer, click Defer Offer.
  • Select which intake you intend to defer.
  • Click Defer Offer.

Your offer will have been deferred, meaning you still have a place at JCU, and you can accept that offer at a later date.

How to reject your offer

We’re sorry you’re unable to study at JCU just now. We appreciate you taking the effort of letting us know that you can’t come and learn with us.

  • Once you have received your letter of offer, use the link provided to log into the JCU International Application Portal. Navigate to the My Applications tab.
  • Depending on how many offers you have received, there will be a list of Submitted Applications. On the offer you intend to reject, click the actions drop down menu, and select Respond to Offer.
  • The Respond to Offer screen provides details about your offer and course. To reject, click Reject Offer.

Whether it was personal reasons or something we could have done differently, we would appreciate you letting us know why you decided not to study with us. It will help us understand how we can improve in the future.

How to withdraw your application

You can withdraw an application before it is accepted.

  • To do this, navigate to the application you want to withdraw in the My Applications tab. Select View Activity from the Actions dropdown menu. Scroll down on the Application Activity page and click Withdraw.

The Application Status will now be changed to Closed.
