If you have booked the International Student Support team's Arrival Service, a JCU representative will meet you at the airport, bus or train station and take you to your permanent or temporary accommodation. If you have not booked the Arrival Service, taxis are easily available outside the airport, bus or train station.
A JCU’s arrival service representative will wait for you at the Townsville airport near the luggage collection area. They also have a courtesy desk near the car rental booths and you can wait for them there if you are unable to find them. If you are arriving by bus or train, they will meet you near the bus/train station’s main exit.
If you booked the Arrival Service in Townsville and no longer require this service, please contact the International Student Support team immediately by email on email@example.com.
Remember if you arrive at the Cairns International Airport, you need to make your own domestic travel arrangements between Cairns and Townsville. There are a number of ways to travel from Cairns to Townsville including plane, bus or train.
Look for the Sun Palm Transport arrival service counter in the airport terminal (they have a desk located in both the international and domestic terminals) and register your arrival with them. They will then arrange for you to be taken to your accommodation.
If you booked the arrival service in Cairns and no longer require this service, please contact the International Student Support Team immediately by email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you did not book the Arrival Service, you can easily find taxis outside all terminals at the Townsville and Cairns airports, bus and train stations. Please make sure you meet with the International Student Support team soon after your arrival.
