Getting Around

Townsville and Cairns are large geographical areas. Public transport is available in the form of a bus service with bus routes focusing on the city centres and most outer suburbs. As a regional area, there are no train or tram systems. A taxi service (which runs 24 hours) is available in both cities.

Having your own car may be more convenient if you will be here for longer than a teaching period and living off-campus, especially if you have a family. Most students who live close to the campuses find that they can get around easily by using a combination of public transport and their own bicycle.
