The JCU Study Abroad and Exchange Programs offer you the opportunity to study in tropical North Queensland for one or two semesters. To begin your application process apply to the program relevant to you below.
If you are not studying at one of our partner universities you may apply directly to the JCU Study Abroad Program.
This program allows you to undertake one or two semesters of study at James Cook University and gain credit* for that study at your home institution. Undergraduate Study Abroad students can study for one or two semesters at either Townsville or Cairns campuses. Postgraduate Study Abroad students can study for one semester at either Townsville or Cairns campuses.
To apply for the Study Abroad program you will need to complete an application form. You can choose to do a written application or an online application.
It is a student’s responsibility to ensure subjects studied at JCU are eligible for credit from their home institution.

To apply for the JCU Student Exchange Program you must be a current student at one of our partner institutions, find out if your university is a JCU exchange partner.
If you are studying at one of our partner institutions please ensure to contact your international office to discuss a possible exchange at JCU. If you are eligible for the program your home university will provide you with a Letter of Nomination which you will submit with your JCU Exchange application.

Local students can study overseas as part of their JCU degree with one of JCU’s partner universities. Students can participate in an exchange or short term program, or in an inter-campus mobility program to the JCU Singapore campus.
