Unless you are authorised to remain in residence, all rooms must be vacated and completely emptied of all non-inventory items at the end of the contract period. For the summer vacation period only there is limited storage space available to returning residents in designated areas of each hall; conditions and fees may apply. Non-returning residents must take all their belongings with them. Failure to do so will incur a fee.

Residents’ property should be stored in sturdy storage boxes. Items that cannot be stored in boxes, such as luggage, computers, TV’s, stereos, etc. may be stored in a designated section of the storage area, subject to availability of space. All items must be clearly labelled with your name and a contact phone number.

All property is stored at the owner’s risk; while all due care will be taken, JCU Halls of Residence accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any items lodged for storage.

Any unmarked items, and any items left in unauthorised areas will be considered to be abandoned property and removed at the discretion of the General Manager. Likewise, any unclaimed property will be removed one month into the following semester
