Residence Contract
Once you accept an offer of a place, a legally binding contract is formed between you and JCU. Your residence contract with JCU is for either a single semester or the full academic year. Penalties may apply if you do not stay for the full term or otherwise breach the residence contract. Accommodation fees are payable for the entire duration of the residence period (term) whether you are in room or not.
The residence contract between JCU and a Resident is contained in several documents, they are:
- the Letter of Offer which is sent to intending residents;
- the Residential Agreement;
- the Fee Schedule; and
- any special conditions agreed in writing between JCU and the Resident.
Intending residents should familiarise themselves with all of these documents.
It’s important that you understand all aspects of your residence contract. Please ask us if there is anything you’re unsure about.
Note: All contract periods listed herein are effective from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019. Information is provided as a guide only and is subject to change without notice. Residents should refer to their Letter of Offer and Residential Agreement for specific details regarding terms of contract.
