History of the prize

This prize was founded in 2007 by McKays Solicitors and is maintained with donations from them. The prize is awarded to a full-time student from the Mackay region, enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws, who has gained the highest pass in the subject Legal Concepts and who enrols in the following year for law degree studies at James Cook University.  Donor wanted to support students studying in 2nd year law subject.
