Publish with Mediasite

Once uploaded to Mediasite, edited and made 'viewable' via the management portal there are three ways to publish presentations.

Publish directly to a LearnJCU subject site Content Area

  1. Log into LearnJCU
  2. Navigate to the content area within your subject site where you would like to publish your presentation
  3. Click on the Build Content menu and click Mediasite - Link to Presentation
  4. Search for the title of your presentation. The presentation must be set to 'viewable'

Publish to a subject catalog

  1. Log into LearnJCU
  2. Navigate to the 'My Mediasite' tab and click the blue MyMediasite button to access the dashboard
  3. Find the presentation you would like to share and click it to open the summary page
  4. From the top menu of the summary page click Publish
  5. On the Publish tab click Publish to Catalog
  6. In the search area type the subject code including the year (eg: 17-BA1001..) and the list will populate
  7. Click the correct subject to add the presentation to its catalog. To add a presentation to multiple subjects repeat steps 5 through 7
  8. Click Save

Note: At this time only subjects which have lectures automatically captured via the timetable integration have subject catalogs.

Share or embed a link

  1. Log into LearnJCU
  2. Navigate to the 'My Mediasite' tab and click the blue 'MyMediasite' button to access the dashboard
  3. Find the presentation you would like to share and click it to open the summary page
  4. From the top menu of the summary page click Share
  5. Copy either the share URL or embed code and paste it where you need it

Note: Presentations must be set to 'viewable' to allow it to be shared within LearnJCU. To share a presentation with the public the security needs to be changed:

  1. Click the Security link at the top of the presentation summary page
  2. Click 'Click here to edit permissions'
  3. In the text box below the words 'Add people or groups' type 'Everyone' without the quotation marks.
  4. Click add and then save

When publishing it is important consider copyright obligations as well as the standards for blended and online subject design
