Browzine is an iPad, iPhone and Android app that provides a unified ereader for many JCU ejournals regardless of the publisher. It allows you store your favourites on a 'shelf' and get the lastest issue delivered as it becomes available. Table of contents link to the articles in your journal. Back issues are available. Use it to create your own personal new journals display.
No need to install an app for each journal publisher or worrying about device pairing to access articles off campus (Browzine uses EZproxy to enable remote access) – Browzine provides a uniform way of reading, storing, citing and sharing articles.
Browzine now has a JCU web portal: BrowZine.com, so you can get a sense of how it arranges our ejournals by subject and allows you to easily browse issues. Still under development with more features coming soon.
Easily read complete scholarly journals in a format that is optimized for tablet devices
Create a personal bookshelf of favourite journals
Be alerted when new editions of journals are published
Easily save to Zotero, Mendeley, Dropbox and other services
Options for sharing articles include, among many:
Browzine’s list of journals is updated each quarter – to see the latest list the app needs to be restarted.
