Creative Commons aims to enable creators to retain some rights to their work whilst making them easier for users to access and utilise. For people looking to use materials, they are an alternative to operating under the "fair dealing" provisions of the Copyright Act 1968 or for teaching purposes under the CAL or music societies licences. All types of resources are available for use. Works creators can also make their works available under the scheme. Some example sites hosting creative commons materials include Flickr (pictures and film), Internet Archive (archived web pages), Clinical Skills Online (demonstration videos of medical clinical skills), and Pressbooks (online textbooks).
