Queen's Birthday Honours 2020

We extend our congratulations to the members of the James Cook University community who have been recognised in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours list. These include:

Professor Martin Nakata AM, for significant service to tertiary education, and to learning outcomes for Indigenous students - Pro-Vice Chancellor, Indigenous Education and Strategy.

Emeritus Professor Rhondda Jones AM, for significant service to tertiary education administration, to science, and to tropical health - Director, Research Development, Division of Tropical Health and Medicine.

Adjunct Associate Professor Colin Limpus AO, for distinguished service to environmental science, particularly to the conservation of sea turtles, and as a mentor of young scientists - Adjunct Associate Professor at JCU.

Richard Ireland OAM, for services to Cairns through a range of roles - Member of the JCU Cairns Campus Founders Committee.

Denise Craig OAM, for service to people living with dementia and their support networks - 2017 JCU Outstanding Alumni.

Bruce Gibson-Wilde, for service to the community of Townsville - former JCU staff member.
