Role at MICRRH

Lynne's role revolves around student education - specifically Mental Health Nursing. Getting to know the nursing students has proved an illuminating experience. Studying externally can be an opportunity for a unique student experience, she was happy to observe.
Lynne's Community work in Mount Isa includes involvement in Indigenous group work with the Catholic Church and providing clinical supervision for nursing professionals (post grad) working in Mental Health.


Also Lynne has had input delivering mental health education in community nursing care education programs.
Mental Health Academics from ARHEN nationwide link up takes place periodically for purpose of information sharing and progress update re individual key performance indicators. It was terrific for this group to meet face to face at the Rural Health Conference in Cairns in April 2017.

Background

Significant has been Lynne's work experience as Primary Mental Health Clinician in Central Australia. 2008 - 2014. Most of that time Lynne was with RFDS Central Operations.
Post her Central Australian time, she worked P/T with  TAFE. Riverina. NSW during 2015.
Lynne's experience is quite varied after a career in Mental Health Nursing in a variety of settings over 30 years, including drug and alcohol treatment/rehabilitation services.
In addition for a two month period she has worked as a clinic nurse in Lae, PNG.
