James Cook University Open Day 2018 - Mount Isa

The Centre for Rural and Remote Health in Mount Isa is hosting a 2 hour event showcasing health degrees at James Cook University for students, job seekers and career changers of all ages interested in a health career.

The 2018 Health Careers Expo will be held at Tjirtamai Hall on Tuesday the 11th of September between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
If you’re interested in a health career this is a great opportunity to get the answers to your questions throughout a range of James Cook University health degrees on offer.

Outback to the Stack Running Festival 2018

If you're up for a challenge Mount Isa's iconic 'Outback to the Stack Running Festival' will be held on Sunday, 22 July 2018! The weekend before our 9th Biennial 'Are You Remotely Interested' Conference 2018 from 24 - 27 July.

The annual 'Outback to Stack Running Festival' offers something for every running and walking ability with individual distances ranging from 5km, 10km and 21km runs.

The event starts from Lake Moondarra and finishes at Tony White Oval in Mount Isa with views of the Mount Isa Mines stack while you run, hence the name!

Quamby Rodeo 2018

The Centre for Rural and Remote Health would like to invite you to one of Australia's most loved rodeo events - Quamby Rodeo held on Saturday 28 July.

Quamby, located 50km from the town of Clonucurry comes alive in July each year with all the thrills and spills of the Queensland Rodeo Circuit. 

Despite the population being non-existent the tiny outback town has no troubles attracting thousands of tourists to the best bush rodeo in Australia. 

As the Quamby Rodeo shirts say, "It doesn't matter how ... just get your ass there!" so do yourself a favor and join us for an authentic Aussie Outback experience.
