Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome to attend JCU Open Day. You might be looking to study, or a parent or partner or friend of someone looking to study, or you might want to check out our campus and activities.
Do I need to register to attend Open Day?
We recommend you register to attend Open Day so you can receive our regular updates and skip the queue on the day.
What time should I arrive?
These are heaps of fun things to do and see at Open day, so we recommend you arrive early if you'd like to get the most out of your day. Open Day kicks off at 11am.
What should I wear to Open Day?
Please wear enclosed shoes if you want to tour our facilities, including the science labs. We also recommend you wear something sun-safe.
What should I go when I get to JCU?
May your way through the front entrance under the big blue archway (road in front of The Science Place), where you will see the welcome marquees. Here, you'll receive your Open Day welcome pack, which will include a copy of the program and event map.
After you have registered or checked in and received your welcome pack, head over to the information marquee to find out more information about the Open Day activities and events.
Do I need to pre-book for presentations and/or activities?
With the exception of the Bus Tour, you are not required to register or book in to attend any of the presentations and activities on offer throughout the day.
Can I talk to current JCU students on the day?
Yes, our current students can't wait to meet you and answer your questions. Ask about student life, accommodation, life in North Queensland, study and work schedules ... anything you like.
Will food and drinks be available on the day?
Yes, there will be a variety of food and drink outlets operating on campus for Open Day.
Will I be able to see all the accommodation options?
Staff at the accommodation booth will be able to answer all your questions and provide information on all the accommodation options available.
To tour the accommodation facilities, simply jump on the free campus shuttle bus located at the front entrance to Open Day and hop off at whichever residential colleges you'd like to see.
Do the campus facilities accommodate someone with a disability?
Yes, there is disabled access to all buildings around the Open Day site. Staff and student ambassadors will be available to assist on the day, if required.
Disabled car parking is also available for permit holders.
Can I book a campus tour if I can't attend Open Day?
If you can't attend Open Day, you can book a private campus tour.

Can I park on campus for Open Day?
Yes, there are several car parks located within close walking distance to The Science Place. See Campus Maps for carpark locations.
On-campus parking will be available free of charge on Open Day.
