Turn right at the roundabout onto Angus Smith Drive and then onto James Cook Drive. Visiting from Mackay, head north on the A1 Bruce Highway, take the turnoff to Discovery Drive then right onto James Cook Drive.
You can reach the Townsville campus directly from the city by buses 201, 202 and 208. Visit Translink to plan your trip to James Cook University (JCU).
A convenient and comfortable way to travel, the Spirit of Queensland and The Inlander both offer rail travel services to Townsville regularly. Check out the Queensland Rail Travel website for timetables and fares.
Cycling is a great way to get to the University. It reduces related greenhouse gas emissions, is great exercise, reduces transport costs, and reduces traffic congestion. JCU has bicycle parking facilities across both campuses.
Free parking will be available in the designated parking lot located on the corner of James Cook Drive and Buchan Road. Follow the directions of traffic control personnel on the day.

The Townsville campus is located on James Cook Drive, Douglas. From the city, the campus is a 20 minute drive south-west, head along Saunders Street and turn right onto Boundary Street which turns into Woolcock Street, turn onto Darlymple Road then left onto the Bruce Highway.
