Similar to the Temperature Control Rooms, the Algal and Larval Laboratories can be for a small daily fee be utilised for a range of temperature controlled experiments.
This room measures 4,960 mm x 3,850 mm x 2,700 mm and has the same facilities as the TCR Rooms with the exception of the benches, although these can be installed if required. This room has plumbing mounted to the wall in eight individual outlets giving access to heated seawater, chilled seawater, filtered seawater, raw seawater and air reticulation. This can be set up either as an open (flow through system) or a closed system. A computer controlled air conditioning system has been installed to maintain and monitor the room’s temperature and humidity.
Measuring 5,920 mm x 3,850 mm x 2,700 mm this room is fitted with a Laminar Workflow station, stainless steel work bench, steel storage shelves capable of holding nelly sized tanks and a single set of inlet pipes for supply of air, filtered and unfiltered seawater. A computer controlled air conditioning system has been installed to maintain and monitor the room’s temperature and humidity.
