Ms Angela Fortt is a Townsville solicitor and the immediate past President of the Townsville District Law Association.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2005, Ms Fortt became Associate to Justice Cullinane for a year and subsequently was admitted as a solicitor of both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. She now works with Crosby, Brosnan & Creen Lawyers specialising in dispute resolution and litigation.

Ms Fortt has maintained an active involvement with the community, especially the legal community, serving first as Secretary and then President of the Management Committee of the Townsville Community Legal Service. Similarly she was Secretary and then President of the Townsville District Law Association. She has also been a Committee Member of the North Queensland Law Association.

Ms Fortt has worked diligently to foster closer ties with both the JCU Law Students’ Society and the JCU Law School in general, in particular arranging for representatives of the JCU Law Society and the Townsville District Law Association Executive to attend each other’s meetings to facilitate co-operation in matters of common interest.

This has lead to the conjoint running of a Law Ball in late 2010 and an increased involvement by the profession in Law School activities and an increased Law School presence in activities sponsored by the profession.
