Appointment of Examiners - Near Relatives Policy and Procedure
Where a candidate for an examination is a near relative of the person appointed as examiner for that particular course, a second examiner should be appointed; such second examiner should not be related to the particular candidate nor to the first examiner.
Where two persons are appointed as examiners for a particular course and each of those persons has a near relative (the same or different persons) as a candidate for that examination and the two examiners are themselves related, a third examiner should be appointed; such third examiner should not be related to either of the other two examiners nor to either of the two particular candidates.
Approval of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic.
No near relative of a candidate shall act as examiner without the written approval of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic.

Date for next Major Review (in accordance with the Policy Handbook)
Approval date - the date the approval authority approved the establishment, minor or major amendment or disestablishment
Implementation Date - the date the policy was published in the Policy Library and is the date the policy takes effect
Minor amendments to align with Council approved Academic and Student Delegations Register

Policy sponsor and approval authority amended to reflect approved policy framework
Quality, Standards and Policy
Director Student and Academic Services title changed to: Director, Student Services, to reflect organisation re-structure Major amendment/Policy disestablished>
