As a measure of health, life expectancy is readily comparable across nations and regions and is one of the most commonly used indicators of a population’s general health status. It is the number of years a person can expect to live based on existing mortality patterns.

Values for Australia, Brazil, Mexico, China, India, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia represent only the tropical region of those nations.
