The Student Systems team operates within Student and Academic Services and is responsible for the planning, development, provisioning, training and support for a number of University systems. The primary focus is on the Student Management System (including eAcademic and eStudent), which manages student and curriculum data. Our portfolio also includes the Customer Relationship Management System, Coursework and Subjects Database and Exam Scheduler, plus a number of other smaller systems.

The major responsibilities of this area include:

  • Managing and supporting software applications from an operational, performance, development and upgrade perspective;

  • Identifying and integrating technical solutions to support the University’s goal of enhancing the staff and student experience via provision of expert advice;

  • Ensuring key stakeholders (staff and students) are actively engaged in change processes through User Groups and professional communications;

  • Providing user training, documentation and support for system and business processes which enables JCU’s knowledge transfer initiatives;

  • Providing professional services in the development of procedures and processes which work towards operational excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement;
