Central Plaza Development

Students Documents Central Plaza Development

JCU Estate Directorate: is commencing the design process for the latest development on campus – Central Plaza.

Central Plaza: The draft Campus Master Plan identifies campus nodes and centres of activity illustrated below. Central Plaza will be situated between Campus East and Campus West. It forms the southern extent of the future University Mall (spine) connecting to the future Ideas Market depicted in Campus North.

Central Plaza will form the new academic and social heart at the centre of the campus. Major new buildings with important social, student and community functions will surround, interact and activate this important civic space, which straddles Wadda-Mooli creek and connects the southern half of the campus to the northern half along the Magnetic Island axis.
