The SSA Fee is calculated on the basis of EFTSL consumed and is charged twice a year. This is based on the two study periods for HDR candidates (enrolment period 1 is from 1 January to 30 June, enrolment period 2 is from 1 July to 31 December).
Full-time
A HDR candidate enrolled full-time in their degree will consume 1 EFTSL (Equivalent Full Time Student Load) per year. Refer to the table below for SSA Fees for 2020 - 2024.
Enrolment Period 1 | Enrolment Period 2 | Total For Year
2024 | $210.60 | $140.40 | $351.00 |
2023 | $195.60 | $130.40 | $326.00 |
2022 | $189.00 | $126.00 | $315.00 |
2021 | $187.80 | $125.20 | $313.00 |
2020 | $184.80 | $123.20 | $308.00 |
Part-time
A part-time candidate consumes 0.5 EFTSL per year. Refer to the table below for SSA Fees for 2020 - 2024.
Enrolment Period 1 | Enrolment Period 2 | Total For Year
2024 | $105.30 | $105.30 | $210.60 |
2023 | $97.80 | $97.80 | $195.60 |
2022 | $94.50 | $94.50 | $189.00 |
2021 | $93.90 | $93.90 | $187.80 |
2020 | $92.40 | $92.40 | $184.80 |
If you withdraw from your candidature, take a leave of absence or submit your thesis for examination, the SSA Fee for that study period will be recalculated based on the date the change became effective. Therefore, if you are not enrolled for the full study period, your fee will be recalculated.
