Loans over $500 or loans for first year students must be signed off by a guarantor.

How do I apply?

Complete and submit the Student Loan Application Form. You will have to provide proof of income, (including Centrelink benefits) and show your ability to make immediate and regular loan repayments. You will also have to prove your continued study is genuinely dependent on the approval of the loan.

First year students and those who are applying for loans over $500 must also complete Guarantee Section of the application form.

How do I view my Student Loan balance?

Login to eStudent, select the 'My Finances' tab and click on 'Email my Statement of Account for the last 30 days'. Your current loan balance will be emailed to you.

When do I repay my Student Loan?

You will be provided with a repayment schedule which you must follow. Failure to repay these amounts on two consecutive occasions will see a $25 default fee added to your loan balance. Failure to repay on five or more consecutive repayments will see your loan passed on to JCU’s debt collectors for action.

You and your guarantor are then responsible for all costs relating to the outstanding debt recovery. JCU has the right to withhold notification of your academic results, refuse graduation or any subsequent enrolment applications if you are in default of your repayments.
