Student representation

Students Support Student representation

JCU recognises that students have a significant contribution to make in the development of the University There are opportunities for students to get involved through membership of the following bodies. In addition, students will be informed when other representation opportunities arise with schools, faculties or university units.

JCU Council

JCU Council is the governing body of the University and recognises the importance of student perspectives in decision-making. Accordingly, JCU Council includes three student members (one undergraduate, one postgraduate and a third either undergraduate or postgraduate student), elected every two years. • Nominations will close 2 – 3 weeks after nominations are called for.

  • Electronic elections will take place in March 2016.

  • Results will be declared around the beginning of April 2016.

  • Elected students will take up their two-year appointments, commencing on 20 April 2016.
