TropEco BYOcups

TropEco BYOcups

TropEco is giving away over 1000 TropEco branded BYOcups to JCU staff and students to as part of the War on Waste program. The cups will help to reduce waste to landfill from disposable coffee cups on the Cairns and Townsville campuses. TropEco has teamed up with coffee outlets on campus to provide discounted coffee when you bring your own reusable TropEco BYOcup. See below for the list of participating coffee outlets.

Why use the TropEco BYOcup?

  • Australians throw away more than 1 billion disposable coffee cups each year
  • After just 15 uses, your TropEco BYOcup will have a smaller environmental footprint than using disposable cups
  • Disposable coffee cups cannot be recycled due to their plastic lining, so they all end up in landfill
  • Your reusable TropEco BYOcup can be used hundreds of times
  • The BYOcup is made from bioplastic, derived from plants not oil, is BPA free, dishwasher and microwave safe and can be recycled.
