The Bio-Regen system at University Halls produces a large volume of bio-fertiliser from food waste that is available for purchase by JCU staff, students and the wider community to assist in recovering the costs of running the system.
How to purchase Bio-fertiliser
Customers can purchase 5L or 15L containers of bio-fertiliser from JCU's Estate Office in Townsville or Cairns. Prices are set at $10 for a 5L container or $25 for a 15L container and a discount will be provided for future refills when containers are returned.
The bio-fertiliser can be picked up by prior arrangement or delivery on campus can be arranged.
Empty containers can be dropped off at the Estate Office and swapped for a new one by prior arrangement with the Manager, Environment.
The proceeds from the sale of the Bio-fertiliser are put back into running the program.
Cash sales can be made directly at the pick-up location and a receipt will be issued upon request.
If you wish to purchase the bio-fertiliser using EFTPOS or credit card you will need to download and fill out the appropriate form and take it to the JCU cashier.

- Swap and go - 5L container - $8
- Swap and go - 15L container - $20
